Clay M. Naughton

Biography

Clay M. Naughton is a Co-Founder and Partner of AeroMarine Law. His practice is focused on litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution. He has experience in complex, commercial disputes as well as personal injury and wrongful death cases, and has represented both domestic and foreign clients in state, federal, and appellate courts. Mr. Naughton has litigated and arbitrated cases involving: warranty disputes, personal injuries, wrongful deaths, vessel arrests, seaman wage claims, maintenance & cure claims, brokerage commission disputes, products liability, repairs and refits, manufacturing and design defects, collisions, allisions, groundings, sinkings, insurance coverage disputes, fraud, negligence, and disputes related to the purchase and sale of commercial and private vessels.


Mr. Naughton attended Tulane University Law School, where he pursued a course of study in one of the most extensive and respected Admiralty Law curriculum in the United States and received his Juris Doctor, as well as a Certificate in Maritime Law.


Prior to co-founding AeroMarine Law, Mr. Naughton was a partner at a prominent maritime law firm where he practiced for 18 years, and served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Carl Barbier of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.


Mr. Naughton is a member in good standing of the United States Supreme Court, the Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Territory of Guam, the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the Dade County Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association, among other organizations.

Clay has handled over 750 cases including more than 220 cases set for jury trial, achieving many multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements.
